The Security Housing Unit contains the hardest criminals inside Marquezas Prison, a Mexican penitentiary located in the swamps of Cormelos. It is one of the last truly medieval maximum-security penal farms in the country and is the home to Kyle Lord (Jean-Claude Van Damme), a petroleum engineer arrested for the vigilante killing of his wife's murderer and rapist. As Kyle struggles for his humanity amidst prisoner fights orchestrated by the corrupt warden as a perverse sport, racial bigotry, violence and deception thrive in this oft-forgotten hell. Drafted into the fights, referred to as “The Shu” Kyle quickly ascends to the victor's circle and has no intention of ending his reign in this action drama full of bone-crunching conflict and inspiring hope.
